Today was the first day back in my running shoes and it felt GREAT! I was having some problems with a toe nail that developed a blister under the nail during the boogie race. Mental note, cut toe nails before a long run. I guess I just have to learn the hard way. Today was actually the first day I have been able to wear shoes other than sandals. I ran my normal neighborhood route. Older couples (which is to say folks my age) were walking their dogs, local teenagers were walking in packs on the road, smaller kids were playing in their front yards. It was a very Norman Rockwell type experience. The temps are still in the 90s. I'm going to have to switch back to running in the mornings once again. On a different note, Doug Dawkins, the RD of the boogie marathon ran across the US last year. I learned that fact from another participants. I've been reading the blog of his adventures and thought I'd share the link. http://dougsrun.wordpress.com/ |
