Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next 2 years I'd like to complete three 50 milers and a hundred miler before I turn 40.  I'd like to break 5 hour marathon and then a 4:45 marathon and then keep improving.  I’m starting to think I’ll hit 100 miles before I see a sub 5 hour marathon…..Geez.

Fifty miler #1:  2008 JFK 50  13:29:53

#2 Hearland 50  13:51 (got lost had to find road back)

Two down....one more to go!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would like to run 100 miles.

Personal:

I've got two wonderful kids who are 6 and 8.  I want to pass on the joy of running.

Very nice evening run. Lots of gnats.  Since I swallowed a couple I was wondering what food group they would fall under?  Protein?

Also, the Bethel Hill Moonlight Boogie 50 mile race is almost full.  The marathon is closed.  Sign up soon: http://www.theboogieraces.com/BOOGIEINFOPAGE.html . This is a fun race ... but it is also hot, humid, and hilly.  Last year someone requested to the RD that he let just one more person into the race so that he could practice for the Bad Water ultra.  Needless to say he was not refused.  I've been told I'm a little bit weird but those Bad Water folks are just plain nuts! ... and of course I'm a bit envious.  I don't see myself ever pushing those limits!  Nevels, I'll be your crew when you go out there.

that looks like a fun race! nothing better than running back roads in the country.

the gnats here have become the main course of my diet lately. they are horrible right now. i keep running into swarms of them.

gnats are an excellent source of protein, but those things are just LOADED with trans fats. lots of sodium too.
