I have signed up for the tough mudder race. http://toughmudder.com/ It looks like the muddy buddy or warrior dash on steriods. At present, I'm too slow and too weak to even finish this race. So although there are marathons on my schedule and perhaps even an ultra my goal from now until Feb (Atlanta race) is to get in shape to not embarrass myself while attempting this race. I'm signed up with some speedy gentlemen (they needed one more to get discount) and they won't hold it against me for being slow....but my pride will. Soooooooo let the training begin. Today my schedule was suppose to have more mileage than 7.5 miles. Heat/humidity and being fresh off vacation made me throw in the towel sooner than I wanted. I've got so far to go. I will become acquainted with P90X and actually make it past the first week. I will even try to keep my B&M down to a minimum. Most importantly, I'm going to try and log my workouts so I can see whether or not I'm improving. |
